About the mapped evidence and imagery

Research locations are assigned from named places in publication titles in the Scopus record. 147 of 193 records have a geographical assignment. General works and records without a defensible setting remain in the complete archive. Each mapped record is assigned one representative location; a study may cover a wider area.

Country, basin, coastal, city and institutional points are approximate reference locations. They are not field-visit claims or study boundaries. Research connections use affiliations documented in particular joint publications, not inferred collaborator nationalities. Career and speaking records draw on the supplied March 2025 CV and the established current AUS profile.

The 3D globe uses CesiumJS and NASA GIBS Blue Marble imagery, a global reference mosaic, not live imagery or Google Earth imagery. The surface is a globe without terrain-height or photorealistic-building layers. The reference map uses Natural Earth land geometry.
